Dr. Mitch Hutchinson
Dr. Hutchinson is originally from Fort Collins, Colorado but spent the majority of his life in South Eastern Washington and North Eastern Oregon. Growing up with a father in Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Hutchinson was given an insight to all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, as well as instilling a passion for the profession. Dr. Hutchinson is married to Dr. Julie Hutchinson, M.D. Julie is a boarded internal medicine physician who practices in Glen Rose, Texas.
After graduating from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989, Dr. Hutchinson opened his own mixed animal practice in Spokane, Washington. However, the lure of working with horses prompted him to build his first equine surgical hospital in 1996. He practiced there until 2006, at which time he came to Texas and started Stephenville Equine Hospital.
Town and Country Animal Clinic was started October of 2012 in Granbury, Texas. Town and Country is an exclusive small animal clinic focusing on quality small animal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Hutchinson’s pastime is ranching. He enjoys working his border collies with cattle, sheep, and goats. Horses are still a big part of Dr. Hutchinson’s life as he enjoys starting and training young horses as well as competing in roping events.Town & Country Animal Clinic maintains a staff of highly trained assistants and technicians.

Sammie
Practice Manager
Sammie was born and raised in Smith River, CA and grew up with a strong love for all creatures big and small. Her passion for animal care began at 19 years old when she moved to Reno, Nevada and started working at an animal shelter. Since then, Sammie has traveled around the country gaining hands-on experience in a variety of animal-related fields, including doggie daycares, grooming salons, and shelters.
Sammie takes great pride in being someone pet owners can depend on and every pet feels comfortable and cared for. She especially enjoys building trust with both clients and their pets and believes compassionate care makes all the difference.
Outside of work, Sammie loves spending time with her two dogs, Logan and Roo, who she absolutely adores. In her free time, you can find her reading, crafting, or relaxing by the river.
